I have a DS-2DF8836IX-AELW PTZ camera that seems to reset every night, my big issue is that it does not return to the home position. I come in every morning now and need to check on the camera that is overlooking a parking lot, and most mornings it is pointing straight at the ground. Now if I click the home button, it will return to the set position that it is configured for. I am not sure why it will not return to it's initial position on it's own? Sugguestions?

I would double check your boot position setup. I would uncheck it and check it again after a couple of minutes without being checked. In fact maybe even go to a couple different presets while waiting.
Not sure what all options you have in the camera. I would check for startup option, if not set make sure to also set to your home preset. I have some with 2 options and some with 3. What ever option isn't set. Would set maybe un checking and re checking option could make work again. Some updates require factory reset and setup again. Might need to setup fresh..
