Im a newb to all this and a new member, so bear with me....

My understanding is the NVR has ports for mouse/keyboard/monitor. That means I can adjust the cameras (PTZ, focus, etc...), playback, download and manage the whole setup from the NVR?

Also, I intend to hide the NVR to an inconspicuous and inaccessible area of the house. Do most NVRs come with wifi so I can access it from my phone or PC or does int need to be hardwired into a wifi router such as my comcast router?

Forgot to mention, all my cameras would be hardwired to the NVR. Im only asking about NVR access/management via wifi.

Actually I connect to my Dahua DVR via wifi. At the DVR I have a Netgear Wifi adapter plugged into the Ethernet port and it works great. Its about 35 ft through 3 walls away from my router.

Note that the NVR direct machine interface is IMHO not nearly as friendly as the web interface for normal system management. I used the machine interface for initial setup, and have not had a reason to go back to it in 2 years.
