I just started heading across the US border lately with the restrictions lifted in Canada and had an interesting interaction with the US border agent. Canadians have to pre-register to return to Canada via a gov't app now since covid. They call it a way of pre-screening for symptoms....

The US border guy told me that they (US) know how much time I'm in the US now because they share data with Canada. He said this was a Covid upgrade to their system. He said "last time you were down for 29 minutes". I go down to get cheaper gas and a few groceries.

I just find it interesting that the gov't wants to track, to the minute, how much time citizens leave the country now "because of Covid".

The Canadian agent said that if a Canadian doesn't pre-register to returning via the app that they won't be denied entry but "they can expect a long interrogation" - just seems odd the way things are going.

In the US, anyone can buy the tracking collected from cell phones. This video talks about it and what they did with the data.

So someone that wants to rob my house can buy the information and know when I will be gone.
They just don't know when the German shepherds are inside or outside. :Do_O
