CPAI integration?

Any chance of seeing Codeproject AI integration in the future for Frigate? Would be awesome to see that.

Frigate does its own AI inferencing. What would be the point of the two coming together?

And I have to say, Frigate works really REALLY well. I'm not sure I want any CPAI code mixed into Frigate...

I think you and I have very different experiences with Frigate AI. I am running it on a decent machine with Coral, and it's FAST but not accurate. It gets people and cars mostly right, but everything else is kinda poor.

What I mean by integration is to call CPAI from Frigate, not actually take the code and lump it into Frigate.

You might ask in the Frigate discussion forums:

Yeah, you are probably right, I didn't do that because I can already anticipate the responses: 1) frigate+ 2) someone in 2023 already tried (and mostly failed)

I had a similar problem with CPAI. Not very accurate either when I was using it. Frigate was always spot on. Especially with a Coral device

i got frigate running cpai for detector.
cpai uses yolov8 and is pretty accurate.
i had it working on v0.14 and now am on v0.15rc still works well.
i am using tensorrt for both btw so they are quite fast and accurate in my experience.

this is the section you'll need to configure on frigate:
