I have just purchased the above camera Dahua PTZ and I have defaulted it twice to factory and reboot it. It will send an email with a photo if I have the basic motion detection set up but
not if I try to use a smart plan. I have tried IVS and Tripwire. They show they can see the motion but will not send an email.
The email is set up and succeeds and works with basic motion but never works with a Smart Plan. I tried to use the PSS software also but no change. I do not have an NVR
I spend 30 minutes on the phone with tech support and they could not get it to work either.
They say it does work but I am not so sure. I reflashed the firmware also

It works well for all of my 4 SD1A404XB-GNR, for sure !

Did You follow those steps ?
1- save one or more presets in PTZ menu
2- activate smart plan for at least one preset, chose the right one you want
3- then, in IVS submenu, chose the preset with smart plan you activated in step2, draw your IVS according to the type of IVS, don't forget to check "send email" and "picture"
