Dahua APP LeChange

Woah, can you clarify the meaning of this? Does this mean idmss and gdmss are being discontinued??
means they will stop all updating for those old app, and then totally replaced by the Lechange. Future only use LeChange
Google play shows gdmss lite and the paid versions still being supported. LeChange is being shown as a replacement for Easy4IP. I hope they don't discontinue gdmss as I have paid for it already. If they do, will there be a paid version of LeChange? I think this would be a huge mistake by Dahua. Albeit, TinyCam Pro walks all over gdmss!
Sometimes apps use libraries that offer these capabilities so the permissions are requested.
Asking for the permission does not mean it is used.
But that is no safeguard - I rather have a app that just serves it main purposes without even the potential to spy on the mobile device where is it not needed.

Yes Currently replace the EASY4IP, and other app still no news about stop working, so no need to worry, i will ask them more details.

The vast majority of these phone apps now want full control over your phone (contacts, numbers, location, memory, full network access), and they are always trying to get people to download their app. Why?, because they want to collect info from you and resell it, along with spying on you. Best to keep only phone apps that you absolutely need and trust, definitely not one from a foreign country. If you don't do things with your phone like banking, cameras, very personal things, then you may not care. Too many people out there don't have a clue what happens to their info from these apps. The smarter the phones get, the dumber the user gets, ever notice this. I keep apps to a bare min.
Yeah I agree, China use Microsoft system and Mac systems or Android, maybe our country all controlled by US guys, lol.
That might not even be a real joke... one might say ;-)!

I am not familiar with this app, but you do want to disable Easy4IP on your cams for better security.
Hi @EMPIRETECANDY - can you find out whether the push notifications will still work or not? I've checked some youtube, I see support for doorbells, so I would think that a "push notification" from the doorbell would arrive over the internet to the phone?

Lechange needs major work yet. It is very buggy.
I've been using it with the DB10 doorbell, and lets just say it is not ready for prime time.
It's my understanding, Lechange will be for the consumer products line they sell, not what most of us here are using.
It is a replacement for Easy4ip. Which again, I doubt many here have been using.

I currently use both lechange, and gdmss pro, for different reasons. Lechange and easy4ip both had some serious limitations that weren't problems for gdmss, such as zoom and preset selection. Lechange uses pinch and spread to control zoom and it doesn't work on my ptz or my varifocal cameras. There is no means to select ptz presets in lechange. The ptz pan and zoom control is horribly sensitive, and there is no way to precisely control the camera.
Gdmss has it's own issues though. All of the above work great in gdmss but the zoom control no longer works with phone rotated to horizontal. Trying to playback video clips from sd card works excellent in lechange, but has no option to select sd card in gdmss. It always defaults to nvr for playback. I like them both for different reasons. For now, if I want to follow employees around the property, I have to use gdmss. If I want to view specific camera motion events, I use lechange..

That’s quite unfortunate. I figured that would happen since they dahua hasn’t bothered to update idmss for the iPhone X. I am wary of using this Lechange app. It ask for too many permission and you need an account to use the app? Why do we need a account to use this?
I'm about to purchase an app instead of using the free version. Should I wait for LeChange or go with gDMSS Plus? Any difference between gDMSS Plus vs gDMSS HD?
Dahua guy told me just use the LECHANGE replace the EASY4IP. For the IDMSS Still using,i will check if have newer version to release or not.
Thanks for checking. Idmss is the only app I regularly use that has not been updated for the iPhone X. Plus, I think Apple will stop accepting app updates that do not support iPhone X in a few months
