Hey guys, just picked up a new Dahua 6C3425XBPV PTZ. I have a similar Hikvision PTZ cam that is about 7 years old and setting up auto tracking for it was easy. Now I enter Dahua land and I am totally lost in their GUI. Where would I find auto tracking and once I find it, how would I set it up? Here is the info on the camera:

Device Model
6C3425XBPV

SN

ONVIF Version
21.12(V3.1.0.1280156)

System Version
V2.820.0000013.4.R, Build Date: 2022-12-27

Web Version
V5.01.0.1366962.TA

PTZ Version
V2.401.0000001.64.RHNCD_230318_44116

Algorithm Version
2.0.2

Security Baseline Version
V2.3

Is there a newer firmware version that may help make things more visible? I hate downloading firmware for the sake of just downloading. Seems like a lot of thing get broken with new firmware.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A couple more GUI pics. It appears to be a nice camera, especially for a new in the box e-bay deal that I just couldn't pass up. The old Hikvision was starting to get a bit tired.

This is for a different camera, but it will be really similar

Cool, I am going to try that. My tripwires only allow about 4 points. I don't know if it is because I am using a Mac with Brave Browser, that may be inhibiting me from going farther? I may try it on a Win 7 Pro machine and see if that makes it work better? I'll let you know if i succeeded or not.

Yeah we have seen the PTZs are still dependent on browsers for some of the items.

The tracking size is hidden up in top right corner when you are on IVS page.

Ok, I tried it on Win 7 Pro computer with Chrome and it now functions like the one on the video did. It is too blasted dark outside here to go run and jump around in the yard tonight, I'll try it tomorrow to see how it works. Now, in live view, my fences are still being displayed on the screen. Is there a way I can turn the superimposed fence off in live view, but still have auto tracking work?

Awesome!

In live view, one of the icons on the bottom left will turn off the IVS rules on the screen but they will still trigger and track.

Found it! We will see if it works tomorrow. It will just take a bit to get used to a whole different GUI, especially when I have been used to the old Hikvision GUI the past 7+ years. I got a bit of ghosting going on in the picture as cedar pollen is flying by the camera. I think that will just take a bit of playing with and I should be able to get that smoothed out. I am pretty impressed with the picture quality so far.

The old Hikvision got demoted as the main PTZ yesterday. It still works fine, but it needs to be taken apart and a good cleaning needs to be done on it on the inside and new moisture absorbers put in it. I am thinking of putting it up somewhere in the back yard, so it can look down through the woods and at the back of the house. I have another Empiretech bullet cam I gotta find a new perch for, too. It may get installed in the car port Next, I am going to have to upgrade my BI PC, cause all these added cameras are beginning to tax the processor a bit. I can't take the money with me.....might as well put it to good use now. :thumb:

While in there I would double check your Pan and Tilt belts as well. I have had a few PTZ cameras in the past few years that have needed new belts.. Hardest part is finding the replacement. Normally if the camera belt is still in good shape you can make out the belt markings and find a close replacement online like Ebay. I have had to ask them to reduce the width of the belts to make them fit. One of my PTZ you could see black bits on the dome from the belts.. I don't remember what one right now, might have been one of the Samsung PTZ but the belt was down to threads and maybe 8 or 10 teeth. It was in one of my remote locations that I don't visit often so didn't even know the camera was failing to pan. Most of my Large PTZ are 2010 to 2015 so far I have had to replace 3 different pan belts. The tilt belts seem to always be in good shape but I replace them just to be safe.. Kind of sad some of my Analog PTZ cameras have better options then my IP PTZ lol. Like the ability to have presets in color or B/W just by calling the preset.. Even my little mini 10x 960h PTZ has that option and all the Ip PTZ that I own don't offer such option that I can find anyway lol. Heck for that matter one of my 2015-17 37x PTZ has the ability to pick different Ai options per preset as well as the color b/w option setting up Ai isn't as easy as IP cameras setup lol

If you have not seen setting up an Analog PTZ camera with Ai. here is from one of my 37x PTZ cameras that I made a video of in 2021 lol. That camera is now at my cabin as it is only 960h. But feature rich and works for the location. I have loads of PTZ and different manufactures so remembering how to get to OSD isn't always as easy as just having 1 brand and doing it all the time.. But talk about learning curve lol..
