Dahua Camera - odd temporary change of IP address on reboot and traffic to 192.168.254.254

I have a Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z with a fixed 192.168.1.x IP address and when it reboots (either manual or scheduled) it momentarily gives itself a new ip address that is +1 from the fixed ip.

Then it tries to make a UDP connection to 192.168.254.254 on port 69 and 9999

Whats it doing ?

Sorry folks - to answer my own question - I read the thread about unbricking with tftp and it covers this - so its just the boot loader doing its normal thing. It just struck me as odd as I saw traffic from an unused IP at 3 am !

Which I now know is when it does it does it's weekly scheduled reboot so the boot loader will kick in.

Glad it was 'normal'.
