Dahua camera will not initialise

I have a new dahua camera, model: Dahua DH-IPC-HDW2531EMP-AS-0280B-S2-AUS 5MP Starlight IP 30m IR Turret Camera – Security Wholesalers

I have plugged it into the NVR and when I click the search device button under Camera Settings, it will not show up.

Might this be because the IP has a different IP subnet? My NVR runs 10.1.1.x subnet. If so how do I investigate the cameras IP since it is needs POE I assume?

Is there anythign else I can try?

An idea, I would click to see if there is anything that isn't active if you have that option. There are some cameras that are out now that will require them to be active. Either using the IP camera tool or can use the NVR. On your NVR might be an option that says Not Initialized and or Not Auto Connected. I would look under then 2 tabs and see if your camera was loaded there.. If it was then you click the box and on the top right click Initialize and should be up and running.. Only thing I can think of outside of being a damaged camera..

By default the NVR assigns cameras the 10.x.x.x subnet.

But sometimes the firmware gets wonky or it is a return and someone didn't factory reset it.

While the camera has power, open up the SD card slot and press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds and then let go and see if the NVR recognizes it then.
