Hey Guys,

I've purchased a DH-P5B-PV and am sort of struggeling with config. I am familiar with other Dahua cameras and their web interface but I am unable to load one for this camera.

I can set basic parameters with the dahua config tool and access the video stream via ONVIF but have not found a way to actually control the camera.
DMSS on Android tells me I have to register with them to continue when adding the camera, so this is a no go for me.

Is the cam broken or does this particualar model not have any web interface and forces you to register with dahua?

Thanks!

According to Dahua docs, Picoo series is managed via DMSS only. No web interface.
Oh damn, where did you get this info? I was comparing datasheets from Picoo to 400 USD pro cams and they all list only DMSS as "management software".
The similarly priced T4A-PV has the same general datasheet layout and supports a web UI.

I've tried to set up the cam with DMSS after initializing with Dahua config tool but DMSS will not let me do that even when selecting manual setup by local IP.
It forces me to create an online account and use the cloud based config.

The cam constantly talks to Alibaba servers in China/Singapore - I've blocked Internet acces by firewall and find myself unable to configure the camera as soon as I do that. How should I even deploy this camera on an off-site location where there is no Internet? Plus: I am strictly against any IPCs with internet access.
