I got this firmware URL from Dahua Support for my DHI-NVR4216-I because of issues with the firmware it was shipped with.
DH_NVR4XXX-I_MultiLang_V4.001.0000000.0.R.200622.bin

Also learned Dahua require using IE browser for full functionality of the web UI...

I just found this even more recent firmware for this NVR: Index of /Firmware/Rejestratory/NVR/NVR4xxx-I/
Have tested it and works fine on 4216-I

Good question. In the end it turned out that most of my issues were due to a lot of web UI functionality is limited to IE browser (with IE-specific plugin). This applies to zooming, backup, saving clips and video display/decode performance in general. It's a bit annoying they don't guide you to use IE browser already on the login page. I'm in Norway, so do appreciate Norwegian language being added to the latest release. It does seem like the Search/Playback works better in this version than in the previous. It also adds support for extra functions my cameras do not support. On the downside I now have an "over decode ability" displaying for a moment on each stream while swapping focus window on the 1-8 view.
