Dahua DSS Express Client Software Issue

I am Ashraf from KL.

I would like to ask about the issue that I am facing now.

First of all, I do have Dahua DSS Express Server and Client running in my server (Win 10 Enterprise, 16GB RAM).


Whenever I run dss express server and client (running for 39 IP-based cameras and 5 access control), my RAM usage will spike up until 99%, and my server stops working.

I have tried another station and it seems to face the same matter. I am curious about the issue since I did almost the same setup for the other project site. but, the only difference from the one that has issues is that the other site network points to another third-party access switch and core switch and back to its own server.

The architecture of my setup is quite straight forward which is, CCTV > access switch > server

DSS is pure controller and from it you can get some data (ID, IP, metadata), witch use at client station not at server (real time video, etc)
The server is not rubber.
The client at the station must bear the overhead of the CPU load from video processing and traffic.

From my understanding of your explanation, it looks like i could not run dss client in my server, am i right?
Which means my server just run all the services for dss server, correct me if im wrong.

Currently, I am running the server as client for storing all my cctv footages as well. The other station is for viewing only.

If this is the case, how can i setup the recordings for all my cctv if i could not run the client in the same server?

Try use hardware server only for sowtware task DSS Server.
It's controller that execute specific own thing (get metadata, store it with video & must work with many connection.
And you take away valuable resources from him for decoding video, moreover, most likely in a software way, not at the hardware level.
