A question about the recommended method of updating firmware for Dahua (empiretech) cameras:
Several of you suggest wiping the camera to default settings three times before updating the firmware, then 3 times after.
I use a second NIC, so the cameras are on a different subnet than the default 192.168.1.108.
So if I tell the Dahua camera config tool to reset to default, it goes back to that 192.168.1.108 address, and is also uninitialized.
So my questions are:
One: can I reset three times without pulling the camera off of the 192.168.50.1 cam net? Will the config tool still allow me to wipe to default two more times without switching the cam to the main (192.168.1.1) network?
And Two: It looks like I'd have to initialize (and change passwords away from the default "admin") each time? (6 times... three before the firmware, three after?)
Or is there an easier way? Thanks
