Today i bough Dahua IPC-HFW3841E-AS-0280B
When i try it on light in my room i have white pixels on my black t-shirt. Is this camera broken? When film in dark no bad pixels.
I maked new video with better light but white dots still there. They are fewer. On dark with IR, the camera is well.
Now I'm wondering if I should keep it or return it. The camera is 194 euros and these points annoy me. And for that much money, I want a camera that can shoot without white dots. Is this problem with all 4k cameras or

As stated in the other thread so that people don't repeat what was previously mentioned:

Nope, that is just some overzealous pixels trying to provide an image on something all black.

Try it with a different color shirt and see if they are all white - that will let you know if it is a dead pixel or overzealous pixel.

Here was one thread/post showing this that on a black image they show up, but not on a green, thus it isn't a dead pixel, just a few overzealous pixels trying to produce an image in what it thinks is a dark environment.

What is your end goal for these cameras? They are surveillance cameras, not GoPro or cameras for Hollywood movies. A few overzealous pixels trying to overcompensate for a dark area is not going to break the ability to get a capture of a perp breaking into your car. The other option is for Dahua to tweak the camera to be more sensitive to light and thus would be a much darker image and not perform as well at night to stop a few overzealous pixels.

And if it is for pornhub, I doubt people would notice :lmao:

I have a YouTube channel for Sleep Streaming. I just want to improve the stream quality. I am with a 4MP 2k camera 30fps TP-Link Tapo 520WS. And that's why I bought an 8MP 4k 30fps camera. I will not use the camera to shoot in daylight or other light. But those white dots are annoying, they are way over 20 pcs just in position on the t-shirt. There should be more than 100 in full screen. For me this is a big problem even if I don't use it.
i also try different Image setting like Exposure, Image Contrast, Brightness Style Saturation Sharpness Gamma
only Backlight: WDR 20 change ammount of white dots. but they do not disappear completely

You changing things and watching them disappear shows that they are not dead pixels.

You need to get a camera on the ideal MP/sensor ratio. You bought an 8MP camera put on a 1/2.8" sensor that does well for 2MP but struggles with 8MP as it needs 4 times more light than the 2MP.

We do not seem to see these issues with the 5442 series camera.

Hello again. I looking for 8MP 1/1.2" but i can't find with IR light. Filter on site show me only Hikvision ColorVu with white leds.
DS-2CD2T87G2
DS-2CD2387G2
DS-2CD2087G2

With IR only have 8MP 1/1.8"
I like these 2 models:
Hikvision IP bullet camera DS-2CD2086G2-IU(2.8mm)(C), 8MP, 2.8mm, microphone, AcuSense 213$
Hikvision IP bullet hybrid camera DS-2CD2087G2H-LIU(2.8mm)(eF), 8MP, 2.8mm, ColorVu 301$

I will use IR only at night but is good to have ColorVu model that have IR and White led at same time. I think i can disable White leds and when i need it to enable. To not buy other cams in future. if buy now IR only in future meaby i can want to buy Colorful camera for night. I can add 100$ more to not buy other cams in future why next time will cost me 213+301$=514$.
Do you think these cameras will have white dots(pixels)?
