I'm trying to enable https on my Dahua 4104HS-P-4KS2 NVR. Actually enabling it is easy, but there doesn't seem to be a sensible way to add your own https certificate to it. All you seem to be able to do is ask it to generate a certificate, and download the root cert for this. This is really pretty pathetic - every other system I've come across allows you to either generate a CSR to be signed, and then upload the signed certificate, or create a key and certificate externally and upload both.

Has anyone found a way to upload a certificate - I am just missing something?!

thanks!

@TonyR - thanks the the welcome and link.

Unfortunately, the link doesn't show a way to install a cert, just create one on the NVR and download the root. Interestingly, though, on Dahua cameras it looks like it is easy - I haven't tried yet, but the dialog is there to upload a certificate and key (and in fact create a CSR). It's very frustrating that this doesn't seem to be possible on an NVR, which is even more strange since it is the NVR you are more likely to be interacting directly with!

Yes, that's basically what I have in the NVR. It's interesting that the cameras allow full certificate management, but not the NVR. I just upgraded to firmware v4, which is significantly better (and has video in a browser!), but the certificate management hasn't improved.
