I have a 4 ip camera nvr poe setup, all dahua ipc cameras 4mp. Need a new nvr poe. Any advice on which model i should go for, my old one is dahua 4208-8p, seem like its flaking out. Keeps skipping days of recording, time never stays correct. Any help is appreciated

In your position I'd first make sure the power feed to the NVR is reliable, and swap out the disk. If you're going to get a new disk for the new NVR, then you could just get that first to try it. If you're going to swap your current disk to the new NVR, and it's causing the problem, you've accomplished nothing. A catch-22, chicken-and-egg situation. I'm just guessing because I don't know if a bad disk could cause your problem. I have a no-POE 5216 that's been running flawlessly for 5 years. I purposely went with an external POE switch so there would be less to replace if the NVR itself or the POE switch were to fail.
