i recently purchased a DHI-NVR4232-16P-4KS2 and found the chassis and PSU 40mm fans excessively noisy, and unbearable to tolerate in my work/study room.

I replaced the chassis fan with Noctua NF-A4x10 FLX 4500RPM 40mm

and replaced the PSU fan with the Noctua NF-A4x20 40mm FLX 5000RPM

now it's all whisper quiet...how it should be....

why Dahua can't choose a better / quieter fan ???

Your PSU fan moves less air than the one that PSU manufacturer originally put in. That may (or may not) affect the products life span.

i doubt it will shorten the PSU life, as i've a number of other devices that actually draw more power than the NVR, with exactly the same PSU, installed the same Noctua fans, and their still going strong 10 years later...i can't complain about that...also the installed NVR HDD SMART temperature attributes had no increase in thermal operation as well...the only definite impact will be warranty, so i didn't change the fans over until i was thoroughly satisfied after a couple weeks of testing / loading the NVR to ensure no hardware defects etc...
