Hello,

We have some strange problems with the folowin situation.
We have dahua NVR with dahua IP cams ( over the network connected & with POE) and later added some reolink Cams added.

These reolinks are connected with the ONVIF protocol on this dahua NVR.
The responsable has 1 pc with smartPSS installed to view all these camera's ( they are displayed in sub stream)
Randomly we get some strange things :

The stream has grey parts and later the video goes verry verry fast, after again grey parts ...
sometimes we have a good view, sometimes not.
attached you see the situation where a part of the screen is grey.

  • the recorded sub-stream is blurry
  • the recorded main stream is good quality
If we compare the kb/s : if we have normal quality : low example 250kb/s, if we are in a bad quality stream : over 5000 kb/s.

This occurs randomly + after an NVR restart.

To repair this we brake the connection & reconnect : ( i set it temp on a strange protocol and come back to the onvif protocol : the

1 * NVR : DHI-NVR4432-16P-4KS2
16 * Reolink ip camera's model : RLC-410-5MP
10 * Dahua ip camera's model : IPC-HFW2421R-ZS-IRE6

All camera's are connected with POE.

Annother strange thing that we have is the folowing :
When the reolink ip camera's reboot they come back on their old ip adress.
They have a fixed ip adress. last year we changed the subnet & moved all these camera's to annother ip adress :

These strange things drive me nuts.
Every day we have to reconnect some camera's

Can you advice some tips how to troubleshoot this situation.

It is always best to match NVR brand with camera brand.

In addition, it sounds like you are exceeding the bandwidth of the NVR

With that said, Reolinks are known for not being very ONVIF compliant and work best with a Reolink NVR.

Plus Reolinks are just poor in general.

The best troubleshooting would be to either get rid of them or get a Reolink NVR lol.

Dear Wittaj,

Thank you for your reply,
You are right, but the situation is what it is en we should make it the best.

Get rid of the reolink is an option that is on the table + my idea

--> I should investigate the bandwidth of the NVR and will look arround for a guide ( i'm new to ip cams).
