Dahua NVR Setup Issues...

What are the basic procedures to install a late model Dahua 5-series NVR?

My current issues are:
-Unit Beeps. The beeps are a sequence of 4 beeps (long-short-long-short). I assume this is HDD related and that the drive cannot be seen.
-Password Error. After initialization, with ConfigTool on the Mac (June 2020 version), there is an error indication in the list (Orange Triangle) where it states that there is a password error.
-Cannot Modify IP. Password Error.
-Ping Failure. Cannot ping the unit at the default IP of 192.168.1.108. No ping returns and "Destination Host Unreachable".
-Factory Reset. I can see the device in ConfigTool but cannot ping this unit at 192.168.1.108. After Initialization with ConfigTool, same results.

So, what's the general approach to setting up an NVR like this?

What might be the problem here?

Change You computer IP address to 192.168.1.50 (net mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1)..
Then use web browser at address 192.168.1.108 and finish init procedure..
then login over web, change ip address in network settings to something in Your normal network.
after all return to old ip address on Your computer (probably automatic one, taken from DHCP server)..

ps. if You forgot password used for FIRST INIT procedure of NVR, then You must do password recovery procedure..

there is second version, where You connect NVR to any HDMI monitor/tv + connect mouse...
And do init procedure over local (HDMI + mouse) interface...
And then configure proper IP address on NVR (matching Your network)..
