Hello everyone, i just got a Dahua NVR4104HS-4KS2/L that i intend to use on my 2 Foscam cameras, SD2X and FI9821P
The 2 cams were added fine and general recording works, i'm trying to get motion detection running with no luck.
Here's what i've done
1. Followed documentation on how to enable motion detection(schedule on storage, video detect settings with sensitivity, threshold, picked zone, all those things.
2. reset both nvr and cameras to factory
3. upgraded both nvr and camera to latest firmware.

anything that i can further do to troubleshoot this? both cameras worked with synology before and i'm not sure how to proceed as i've tried most.
thanks in advance.

I ran into the same issue a couple years ago when I was using a Foscam FI9900P. After a bit of Googling I learned that Foscam's motion API strayed from the ONVIF standards so the NVR did not work with it. I ended up installing a Dahua camera instead.

Maybe your camera has revised firmware that can be coerced into working with your NVR. Or maybe things have not change since my no-joy experience. Fingers crossed you solve it.

Are you doing this in the NVR or directly in the camera web gui?
actually both, tried on windows, mac and on the NVR itself. also tried setting on smartpss. tried on multiple browsers/computers since occasionally i noticed that the region settings does not show up..
