Dahua NVR4108-8P-EI AI functions not available

Hi guys! I'm new to IP cameras, but a week ago I've successfully installed a Dahua DVR (NVR4108-8P-EI) with 4 cameras (IPC-HDW2849TM-S-IL-0280B). I am able to get the simple AI functions (people or vehicle detection) by the cameras themselves, however AI functions by recorder (IVS, face detection, face recognition) are not available.

Whenever I try to enable any such setting in the web UI, I'm getting a "Limited resources. Failed to support AI by recorder or 4K resolution and output different video sources via the HDMI/VGA port at the same time." error message. I am aware that the recorder only supports face detection/recognition for max 1 channel, but I'm not able to make it work even for this. I made sure all the AI settings by recorder are disabled for all other channels.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

PS: I have to say, both the DMSS and web UI are not super user friendly...

So the NVR is base line with turbo.. So here is what I would do. Remove all Ai cameras and or do a factory reset of the NVR, Then setup your 1 channel Face Detection. If it works without having other things added it might be like some of the older hardware where it would work with 1 ch face detection on ch1 and no other Ai would work if Face was enabled. Then if you are able to setup face detection on ch1 then try to add in extra Ai after the fact.. If when you try to add in extra Ai camera in Ai mode if it rejects this then you know that 1 ch Face is the limit.

PS: I have to say, the SMD is super not user friendly...

Are you using SMD on the recorder ? Shut that off and see if things change. SMD is still an AI function

Also, trying to use the DMSS app to manage features and functions is not great. Its not really made for that. Login to the NVR itself via its web GUI

Sorry, I was not clear. I AM using the web UI of the NVR. I've double checked and all the AI functions are either disabled or set to "AI by camera" (for all 4 channels).

Gotcha .

Im not certain as I dont have one of the Lite EI NVRs but maybe it wont allow you to run both AI on the camera and NVR simultaneously?

Will try to play with the settings and see... or try to send this question to Dahua directly.

Anyone knows if there is a way to link DMSS with Google home? Was thinking about switching on the lights via google home in case of an intrusion detection. Wonder if that is possible... The manual for DMSS says it is:
"You can connect to Alexa and Google Home assistant to DMSS App, and control devices onthe DMSS with Alexa or Google assistant. Follow on-screen instructions to finish configuration."

But this option is not there in the current version of DMSS...
