do you all have any success stories with installing a Dahua PTZ that uses POE+ (802.3at) while using and POE+ extender? if so, where there any difficulties or major issues?

I've used the 59225 with the Dahua PFT1200 for 2 months with no issues - I've just literally moved it over to a POE+ switch at the weekend and it's been fine on there so far too.

I believe the PFT1200 drops to 3x 8w outputs when extended with the PFT1300.

How far do you want to go?

the item you linked in an injector, not an extender. i need 600' to reach the SD49225T-HN. NO external power outlets are available. i was hoping 1 POE+ extender would do it, but was curious and cautious.

OK, so you're looking at something like the Trendnet TPE-E100 I'm guessing with that going bang in the middle of the cable run?

My runs are nowhere near that distance unfortunately but you'd think you should have around enough available for the camera with the above - it's not dark here so I can't see what my PTZ cameras are pulling with IR on (they're around 17w with it off according to the switch).

The specs say that should use 2 watts max so that should leave you with 27-28 which should be enough as the Dahua specs say 20w with IR on, hopefully someone will be using one here at your distance. There's an older post with someone going to 1000ft with the one.

This $70 unit is outdoor-rated and claims to be able add 100m of POE/POE+ Ethernet for a total of 200m / 656 feet ==>> here.

i was looking at that one, but more importantly looking for success stories from people who have deployed such a setup with such a long run (600') of cable while using an outdoor POE+ injector
Hi, what did you end up with?

I plan on using a second 59225 with a Mikrotik CRS112-8p-4s-in for a distance of 130m (427ft). I am looking at the Dahua pft1300 midspan POE extender.

I already have one 59225 but it's a shorter distance - 50m (165ft), paired with a Cat6 Nexans cable and it's been working fine, i only had to upgrade the switch PSU to a 52V 2.A up from the stock 48V 1.46A.

I never bought one. At this point I would probably get a 802.3bt switch, and the power a passthrough Poe switch from it....and then to the cam. The 802.3bt switch would at least provide flexibility to add other devices that have high power draw.

How long is the complete cable run (switch/nvr to the camera)?
