Hello, I bought DH-HAC-HDW2802T-A cameras and XVR Dahua recorder and i set everything up but audio doesn't work. I am currently using video baluns (video audio and power) with cat5e. I put the audio connector into video in Channel 1 and the video BNC to Channel 1 too.

In the DVR settings I went to Encode/ Main stream/More/ and turn "on" audio. Compression is "G.711A" and the audio source is "Local". (When the Video and audio is connected to DVR corresponding video channel, the option "HDCVI" under audio source for that channel is missing. If I take off the connectors, the "HDCVI" option returns)

I also turned on "Live Audio" and turn the volume to 100% on DISPLAY setting.

I can't hear any live audio when i click into channel 1, am I doing something wrong?

Are you connecting to the XVR via a web browser using its web UI?

I was never able to get audio over cat5 with baluns. It will work with coax.

I also tested with a RCA cable just for the audio ( rca cable connected from camera side and the other end straight to the XVR channel 1 audio in slot ) and no difference.

I am just testing it directly at the XVR using a hdmi connected to a monitor

The RCA should work, do you get the HDCVI option with it?
I asked about connecting because the XVR itself has no speaker I’m aware of …

ok I figured it out, I didn't have it to CVI on the toggle connector. Was also wondering why I wasn't getting 4k resolution and was only getting 5mp.

Apparently that the only way I can get audio HDCVI source option. I also successfully used 1 cat5e cable and a pair of video baluns (video, audio, and power connector version)

What I found out is that I didn't even need to connect the audio connector plug from the camera or the XVR RCA side to get audio from the camera, does that mean this camera run video + audio through the BNC connector?

the spec on the camera said this:
Audio Interface1ch in & Built-in Mic

I know if you run coax it does indeed go through the BNC so yeah. I never got it working via cat5/baluns so kuddos to you!

Do you have a pic or part# on the baluns you used?

audio also run with my video balun cat5e setup without using the audio connectors. These are what I bought, It states that that it for 4k cameras but honestly these look exactly the same as the older video baluns ones I have previously used for 4mp 5mp cameras without the audio connectors. I will test my old video baluns (one that doesnt state 4k compatible) to see if i still get 4k resolution and if audio goes through video and update here

Ok so the regular ones I bought and used for my 4mp and 5mp cameras that look exactly the same minus the extra audio rca connector and not stating 4k compatible works with 4k resolution and audio through BNC connector. I guess I didn't need to pay more for the "4k" video balun version afterall

Good to know, thanks for testing!
