Dahua XVR1B08H not upgrading

Hi, I have XVR1B08H DVR, I looked on eBay for a new camera. The specs page on Dahua site says that the firmware should be upgraded to at least 4.001 but what I have is 4.000.

I found an updated 4.003 firmware for my device but it fails at 50%. I read somewhere that it does not pass a check and therefore does not continue to flashing.

I also read that I should visit this page on my device. It shows

processor=ST7108
serialNumber=5H03BAEPAZ15E11
updateSerial=XVR1B08H

But it does not make me wiser.

How critical is the firmware upgrade? I had one HD camera (was burned in an arson), it did not have a correct aspect ratio, it had to be selected manually in viewer and in mkvtoolnix settings on repackaging so it was not a big deal.

Or are there any "special" firmwares having something to do with a special OEM firmware I read about in another thread?



I tried Website UI, USB upgrade and finally the above Configtool upgrade, all to no avail.

Looks like the wrong firmware. Your model is not an I3 XVR.

Right, using the cryptic WYSZUKIWARKA-HDCVI.xlsx under section Rejestratory which in Polish apparently means DVR I was able to deduce that my firmware is DH_XVR5x08-X_MultiLang_V4.001.0000000.17.R.240727.bin

Although it says that the DH-XVR1B08 Firmware is DH_XVR5x04-X1_MultiLang_, I concluded that because my DVR has 8 camera sockets, it must be the 5x08 and write I was.




Ironically this version does not have system maintenance menu option and no Factory reset. The system entry now contains only 'General'.
