Well finally got the first product, went ahead and got a 12mp just to see what it could do in well lit retail environment. To my surprise they are not backwards compatible with Dahua NVRs like Flir was when Dahua took them over. Only Onvif support and only in sub stream of D1 even though NVR shows 4512x2512 resolution. Looks like after 10 years I’ll finally be looking for different vendors.

Wonder what this means for existing US customers when they want another camera when dahuaUS stock runs out?

The specs state that this 12MP camera has only a 1/2.5" image sensor....is that for real? :wtf:

Man, show us:
  • camera spec (sensors size, optics etc)..
  • how camera looks?
  • how back connections & mouting system looks?
  • how web interface looks - in different modules / config settings?
  • how image looks, especially at night with some movement...

Also what mobile / desktop app supports this?

yes, it's real...
typical spec of current cams...

99% cams on market have NOT IDEAL resolution / sensor size ratio.. no one cares and understands this :(

Higher MP is where all the cool kids hang out :lmao:

Sounds like Luminys going the cheap route and probably still charge the premium price?

At luminys website I found 2 camera lines with 1/1.8" image sensors:

- LumiColor - looks like FullColor cams, 4/8Mpx with 1/1.8", only white lights, only fixed...

- LumiLuxSmart - some cams with small sensors... but if you limit WDR to 130db in product selector, there are 5 models which looks like 5442-S3, only 4mpx with 1/1.8", dual hybrid light (IR + white), 3 fixed models + 2 varifocals,

interesting all fixed cams are only 2.8mm.. varifocals only 2.8 to 12 or 13mm.. no 8 to 32mm...

Luminys is a separate company to Dahua.

I wasn’t even going to bother, mainly just bought for reason above and to see if it was interoperable with legacy dahua. Tech support is no longer open on Saturday so I’ll give a call tomorrow to see if there is a way. I might try plugging it into a newer n82b3p when I get home and see if it’ll populate in camera list. Yesterday was an older n52 series.
