I have three old DS-2CD2412F-IW cameras (firmware 5.3.3). I've just registered them into HikConnet. To do this I needed to give device code, which is expected to be printed on the camera's sticker.
Problem is that all three cameras accepted the same device code, from the first camera. I enabled ssh, and then I called showKey command, and I've got interesting results:
cameraA:
challenge code: codeA from stickerA
permament code(enable): codeA from stickerA
permament code default): codeA from stickerA
cameraB:
challenge code: codeA from stickerA
permament code(enable): codeA from stickerA
permament code default): codeB from stickerB
cameraC:
challenge code: codeA from stickerA
permament code(enable): codeA from stickerA
permament code default): codeC from stickerC
(there were also other numbers, but different for all devices, except 'user id', which is the same for all)
Any explanation of this? I bought these cameras in ~2014 as a new devices, but used them just for few days in 2014 until today. I'm really confused. I'm wondering if it is safe to use these cameras with HikConnect service in this situation.
