So one of my cameras is showing offline and has been for 2 days now. I asked one of my sons that lives much closer then I, to go check to see what is going on. Anyway today he made the trip and the camera is offline, I asked him to take it down and walked him through some troubleshooting. At my work bench had him test the camera on 12v and the camera didn't come to life even with a 12v power supply so something is wrong with camera. Next step is to have him ship it to me. However I wonder if anyone here has had any issues with using ePOE? It has been setup using a LR1002 for the last few years and has been working great for its use anyway.. Had him mount the old Dahua BOX camera with PLZ20C0-D lens back at the location. This is housed in a Dahua IR housing and setup to use the IR and trip a White LED light.. That camera is the HF81230E-E was mounted there with the housing before getting the bullet a year later.

Anyway I am just wondering if anyone has had any issues when installing ePOE cameras using LR1002? With it not getting power on direct POE or on 12v only can guess what the issue might be until I get it here to do my own testing.. But if anyone has had any issues on the LR1002 what was the fix or did you just recycle the dead camera?

The box camera is setup with same setup as this one was and it was working and still works. So not sure it was issue with alarms and the camera as I do have some protection in place for my white leds so they don't back feed and that was all good. Only thing different was added that LR1002 had a different one was using for the box camera on the coax with a box style device for POE.. Anyway I just noticed that the box camera takes a lot less power to run geez. I mean it has been working for 4 or 5 years there so it did it service but really hope I can get it back there as i liked that camera in that location lol. I mean the Box camera is great just not able to change zoom factor like I can with bullet camera. Also the box camera has issue running max MP so I have to run it at 8mp.

I know it is old tech just replace and move on lol But I like to repair my broken things lol. I support Right to Repair..

Wow no wonder it's a POEat format lol I mean I know some of my cameras have built in heat/cooling but never really looked at the datasheet for this camera only knew it offered zoom where my other camera was just 16mm.

This is one reason some cameras cost more then others. If I ever had to repair this camera for another it requires special pricing for labor. This is a PITA to work on lol. I mean it looks like some of my other dahua zoom cameras on the outside but crazy built on the inside. Lol. Awesome camera geez that fan in this is larger then the one in my mini Samsung 10x ptz if you want to call it mini lol. Not that small but not full sized either..

That is easy to know, just test the switch to the camera directly, if not work camera dead, if work the LR1002 dead.

Thanks that was how I knew camera was dead, camera direct to switch no life, then tested with external power supply still dead. Seeing camera was remote to me had my son test then mailed camera to me for me to look it over. I did test again on known good cable, switch and power supply. All came back dead. So cracked open to find issue. Lucky for me only dead fuse, removed added in buss wire to test camera came to life. Sadly have to buy replacement fuse seeing it's 4amp I only have 3.5 in like kind. But at least it wasn't something worse. These are a pain to work on lol was hard to get out seeing it's tacked at bottom so upward pressure in micro SD door while trying to pull out to get it out.

Looking through my phone found 2 years ago Feb that I was working on one of my other Dahua Cameras. This one was also connected ePOE and this camera the N45CB5Z didn't take the same path to destruction. But it was also repaired and is back in service. Looking at the 2 you can see they are built same type of layout just the CB5Z don't have all the cool heater or fan so less parts on the cameras power board.. Plus it slid right out of the housing after taking out the screws holding the camera to case.. I need to look over my systems with ePOE setup as I am starting to notice a trend lol.. Looking at this picture I see it also has the 4amp fuse lol.. Humm this don't need that fuse lol.. It would be just fine with the 3.5 that I have instock lol.. Geez temped lol..
