Hi,

I installed a set of 6 budget Hikvision cameras + NVR HK DS 7608NI-Q2 in my house, and mostly everything is fine. Yesterday I upgraded two cameras to Acusense capable cameras and I have to admit it is a big step forward. I wanted to use one of the previous cameras to monitor an empty terrain next to my house as it can be used to enter my roof.

Two issues, first I can not turn my camera image 90 degree, I checked the different posts but no option is available, just mirror, which does not help. Anyways if motion detection would work, it is no major topic for me.

But motion detection is not working. The camera is quite high (see picture - something linke 7-8 meter off the ground, you can see my footprints to estimate the size) but still earlier even small leaves made the motion detection alarm. Is it possible that due to the detection mounting the motion detection is not working? I have no human detection or similar activated. Any movement detection would be fine for me.

Many thanks, Tom

I will share my 2 cents about acusense technology:

It is great as long you dont use inbuilt motion detection 2.0 with predefined min/max values.

So please do the following:

Make 4x intrusion detection areas which will not overlap ,in a way that Area 1 is 0-5m from camera next one is 5-10 and so on.
For each camera do a calibration of min/max value. It would be good if somebody could stand there so u can get perspective of size.
and third, Do not ever use acusense tilted, its algorithm only works if its looking horizontally(it was not fed with tilted people/Car models :D).<-This took me a while to figure it out

Good luck :)

Hi,
many thanks for the detailed answer. I changed the camera to a better one (DS2CD2646G2-IZS) and I installed it "right" not 90 degrees turned. The detection is much better but still not optimal. I will try the 3 areas which you suggested and let me know. Again many thanks!
