We have a well-functioning Dahua alarm system, but my only issue is that when the DMSS app notifies me of a break-in, the alert sound is extremely loud. It has happened several times that it went off at night and woke up the entire house. Is there a way to reduce the volume? I use an iPhone. Thanks.

:rolleyes: :idk::oops:

but what is generating the alert sound?
cameras with speakers? extra big speaker? alarm siren?

ps. about false positives - probably your installer uses some Smart Motion Detections..
Ask him to configure detection using IVS where You can describe / draw areas/lines to cross (You can exclude areas which create false positives) and describe min/max object size limits - it gives much less false positives..

Thank you for the responses, but I might have expressed myself unclearly. My issue is that when the alarm goes off, the DMSS app on my phone alarms extremely loudly, and I would like to reduce the volume. It would be enough if it notified me just like an alarm clock.

Maybe if you break it down for us…

1- What “alarm” goes off before DMSS wakes you up? A house security system alarm?

2- Sound for DMSS on your iPhone is controlled by that volume thingy (two buttons) on your phone like everything else on your phone.

You could change notification sound in settings. Something quieter.
