Well, my sd card quit working a while ago on a 5442T-ZE, and I didn't mind it right away. So, after a while, (like today) I put a new card in, and had quite a time doing it.
Well that was the problem, I forced a new card in the slot. - and it didn't work. I now had 2 cards in the little slot and I couldn't remove it.
I took the cam apart to see my err, and saw a little spring (probably the ejection spring) sitting in the cam housing.
bottom line, I need a new sd card slot or a new cam, and I'd rather just buy the part @EMPIRETECANDY

wondering if a slot board from a 5231 would match up. I have an exhausted one laying around here.

Can you just tape / glue a card in place?

The 5231R-z does have a SD card slot. You have to open the camera case to get to it.
