Does Dahua SmartPSS / gDMSS / iDMSS transmit cleartext passwords over the internet?

I use some Dahua XVRs with SmartPSS / gDMSS / iDMSS. (model: DH-XVR5216AN-4KL-X, DH-XVR5108H-4KL-X-8P )

How secure is the Dahua network protocol (port 37777) nowadays?

Is there anything like SSL or Diffie–Hellman key exchange used? I don't see how else to avoid revealing the password over the internet.
