I have a DS-2CD2032-I (current firmware is V5.1.2 build 140116) that hangs every so many months requiring a reboot. I've read that later firmware supposedly solves the issue but before i go ahead with upgrading, i just wanted to sanity check a few questions i have -
Firstly from what i've read, the DS-2CD2032-I is a R0 platform camera and the latest firmware is v5.4.5 build 170123; would the following file(s) from the Hikvision portal be the correct firmware for the camera? - http://www.hikvisioneurope.com/uk/portal/?dir=portal/Product Firmware/Hikvision/03 Front Ends/IP Camera/Old Models/R0 Platform(DS-2CD2xx2)/V5.4.5 170123(Released)
Secondly, the serial number includes 'CCWR' which supposedly makes the camera a 'World/multilanguage' device - am i right in assuming i'm all good to upgrade and upgrading shouldn't brick the camera using the above firmware?
Third, do i need to export the camera configuration prior to upgrading or, should the configuration remain if it's a successful upgrade?
Fourth, am i right in assuming i should really use Internet Explorer 11 (Windows 7 or 10) to upgrade the firmware through the WebUI? Or can i use any browser like Safari/Chrome/Edge on a Mac etc?
Lastly, is there anything i'm missing?
Much appreciate the help in advance. It's the first time upgrading a Hikvision camera so just want it to go as smoothly as possible.
