DS-2CD2532F-IWS (mini dome) half of IRs burned out after 1.5 years

Just fyi, in case someone considers it. I like the form factor, but not only it's lux rating isn't the greatest, I recently noticed that half of the IRs (there are 10 of them) burned out and the rest barely do anything anymore. While all 3 2432 still shine as bright at night as the day I bought it 2 years ago.

In general I don't like those mini IR leds, they don't seem to last in most cams.

You can buy replacement IR lights on AE. I've seen them for only 3 or 4usd. Should be easy enough to change out for a new one.

Have a bit more of a look and see what you can find.

The only way to use those^ for the 2532 would be to desolder the individual leds and swap them over, that's if they are even the right size. The brightness of those leds are probably lacking as well.

If you are feeling adventurous, you could track down what leds are in the 2532, buy them and solder them in.

Even if it was possible to soldier new leds it's not worth the time and effort. I might just sell the camera as is.

Its a great camera, but the IR is the truly limiting factor. External IR Illuminators are the way to go with this one.
