Hey Folks -

I am considering 2 different camera models. I live in a very dark area with no street lights, so night time performance is really important. I will likely not use the IR from the camera and instead use an IR flood light (tired of spiders). I have a bunch of Reolink (RLC510A) cams right now that I am going to replace. I obviously want good day time performance too.

I've read good things about the Dahua 5442 (EmpireTech-Andy IPC-B54IR-Z4E-S3) and I've also heard good things about HikVision's ColorVu, but I can't find info on the DS-2CD2647G2T-LZS specifically. I like it because I can get it with 2 day shipping with B&H -
Any opinions on these 2 cameras? Are they more or less equivalent or is one better than the other?

The 5442 all the way.

The ColorVu doesn't see infrared, so your IR floodlight would be useless!

It will blow away your Reolink. And not to say the 5442 won't attract spiders, but it will attract way less than the Ring of IR around the Reolink. I rarely have an issue of spider webs with my 5442 series cameras.
