I am trying to install a DS-2CV14G2-IDW wifi camera (it also has netwoekconnection) to a network connectd DS-7208HUHI-K1 DVR. The camera out of the box has the standard Hikvision IP address of 192.168.1.64 on the network connection, but has an address of 192.168.8.1 on the wlan. I used the SADP app to find the wlan connection and changed this to 192.168.1.165 which is a free address on the network and activated the camera. I then used Hik connect to get the camera onto the WiFi network. The camera appears on vms4200 and on Hik-connect, but when I go to add it to the DVR under IP cameras it finds it under quick add, but then shows an error of Abnormal network.
As a check I used a WiFi EZVIZ camera and programmed it with the same IP address and it connected to the DVR, 4200 and Hik Connect with no problem.
I regularly install Hikvision cameras but I must say this has me beaten! Any ideas?

Solved.
I had installed this site 6 years ago and did not change the default IP address of the DVR, so it was set at 192.168.1.64. On the new camera I was only using WiFi so I had changed the wlan address and had left the lan address at default .64. Even though the camera was seen by the DVR only over WiFi it must have been able to see that the lan was set to the same address as it's self. It was the "Abnormal network" message that confused me, as if it had said "IP conflict" I would solved the issue a lot quicker. Lucky for me this was at my sisters house and not a paying customer!

This illustrates why I always change a cam's default (usually a Dahua or Dahua-OEM) from 192.168.1.108 to a unique, static IP outside my router's DHCP pool and in my subnet as soon as I bring it "into the fold", as it prevents such issues.

It doesn't matter much these days, as my subnet now is 192.168.200.XXX but back in the day when it was 192.168.1.XXX it could have if an existing, online cam was still at default.
