Possible it’s just worn out if it had been doing a lot of tracking and/or had pans or patrols set for long durations (months at a time). They do have some unknown to me limit.
I’ve never had one go dead. I’d try a factory reset first, assuming you’ve checked settings thoroughly

it zooms, tilts pans and auto focuses fine, it moves between setpoints as schedule fine. the camera is only about a year old and I tried a reset but with keeping it's ip

Without physically going through settings I dunno 
Can you see if it is tripping IVS lines or SMD, whichever u have set at its preset?
Possible it has lost its preset or for some reason IVS isn’t live ?

Has the firmware changed? Dauha for example removed autotracking from at least one of their cheaper PTZ cameras with a firmware update.
