I have a DS-7604NI-E1 / 4P/A and I'm trying to set up my cameras, but running cables through my home is a nuisance that involves lifting up floorboards and removing plasterboard.
One of my cameras has WiFi, but I don't see an option on my NVR interface for WiFi. Is it possible to set up WiFi on this NVR?
You would need to utilize the Wi-Fi from a wireless router or access point that is on your LAN. Using wireless for IP cameras is not a very good idea.
Have you considered using Power Line Adapters? I would consider that before wireless. I have one running right at 65 ft. away from my Blue Iris server and switch in a garage under a finished 2nd story bonus room with no access for CAT-5e cable that has been VERY reliable. The first one, a TP-LINK, was rock-steady for 3 years until a recent power line surge from a nearby lighting strike took it out. Installed another TP-LINK AV1000 pair 3 weeks ago, not a hiccup since.
