Hello All,

I am just getting started on my new camera system. I went with a Synology DVA1622. I was speaking to a knowledgable fella' on here and after much conversation, For the driveway I have landed with starting with...

  • EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE
  • EmpireTech IPC-Color4M-T (3.6mm)

These are not supported by default by the 1622. Has anyone had luck connecting these or have any recommendations of similar cameras from another MFG that would be compatible?

Page 7 of the specs for that DVA1622, footnote 1, states "Surveillance Station supports ONVIF Profile S and Profile G, as well as H.265 in Profile T. Check our compatibility list for all supported cameras"

If you search for "Dahua" which is the OEM for EmpireTech cameras in that "Compatibility List" you'll find 743 Dahua cameras listed.

Your cameras will work with that Synology.

Many here with synology have stated the camera will not come into the system unless they use Dahua.

And some have stated some cameras do not come in unless the Empiretech camera is flashed with Dahua firmware of the equivalent camera.

I find Dahua cameras very hit and miss with Synology SS, sometimes even selecting the correct model at times they play up or take an age to initialise. At times I find a you need a lot of trail and error with different models (different to what you have) helps but its a long slow process.

You could try the Color4K-T180 and adjust for your one.. messing around with the settings (bitrate, resolution, etc within the camera setup is SS also helps) but my rule of thumb if it takes more than 10 secs to activate once you have selected it, it will either not work or you will have issues with it.

I can confirm the following models work with Synology SS and the DVA1622

IPC-Color4K-T180
IPC-HDBW5441F-AS-E2 (4mp boobie cam)
IPC-HDBW4231F-AS
IPC-T2431T-AS (but only as Dahua ONVIF)
