testing out the eptz settings and I don't see any difference, for example, I thought I would be able to view zoomed in videos of targets.
is it that blue iris doesn't support this ? or am i doing something wrong?
I want to be able to zoom on the face of anyone that comes on my property that trips my tripwire settings. I'm sure everything is set up properly , I'm just not seeing any zooms within a pre recorded video..

Blue Iris does not recognize or pull over the ePTZ video from cameras. You either need to save to an SD card or an NVR with ePTZ capabilities.

ePTZ is simply a digital zoom, which we have been able to do in BI for years.

I have turned all of mine off as I can simply replay a video and do a digital zoom and don't want any of the little camera processor power to be wasting resources on a gimmicky feature.

I am sure some find it useful, but I see it as an unnecessary use of camera resources waste of space on the SD card as digital zoom accomplishes the same thing.

My cameras are all optical zoom not digital

But you mentioned ePTZ and ePTZ is a digital pan, tilt, zoom option on some cameras, even on cameras with an optical zoom.

With the exception of a true PTZ, a varifocal optical zoom camera is a set it and forget it zoom and the ePTZ function on that camera will do a digital zoom, not an optical zoom.

If you want the camera to do an optical zoom, you need a true PTZ camera with autotracking, not a varifocal with ePTZ.

Maybe you are using the term wrong? What camera and show an example?
