Error when sending alerts to Google gmail, etc.

Something happened the other day that I can't explain. I stopped getting alerts in my email and phone. I'm not sure what I did. Did google do something or did I mistakenly change a google setting?
This is the error I get when doing a test

Well, I ask a question and 2 minutes later I come up with my own answer. Somehow the security changed and I had to go in a allow less secure apps.
