Using Hikvisions pcnvr software would it be possible to set up a WD My Cloud Personal Cloud Storage 2TB to record my one DS-2CD2342WD-I camera?

Having read other threads i suspect that this device is not up to recording 24/7 and is best used for archive files only. Is there an alternative is an Nvr the best solution.

I don;t think any ready external HDD is ideal for 24/7. Better to get a NAS with WD Red but that's pricey!

It's not and it's a helluva lot more inconvenient. You couldn't pay me to use Hikvision PCNVR.
