I couldn't find an answer by searching the forum.

Do you think an external USB 3.0 hdd enclosure will be to slow to write and read video from?

I bought a computer to use as an nvr, but didn't read the specs close enough. There is only 1 spot for an internal drive.

I also bought a 4tb wd purple to record the video to. The hdd that came in the PC is a 2.5" sata ssd.

PC is a Dell Optiplex 3040 and has the following internal ports.
* 1 Sata 3 port
* 1 Sata 2 port
* 1 Sata pwr port that has a cable that splits into one 4pin molex and one 15pin molex connectors.

Thank You!
Matt

You should be able to remove the dvd drive and stick an ssd in there for os.

Need a power cable 2x1 adapter. A number of us have done it with the same dell sff machines.
