I’m not sure if this is the place to ask but what camera could I use for indoor fall detection? My wife has fallen maybe 6-7 or so times in the past year and ended up in the hospital at least twice. Any input would be appreciated.
I personally would not rely on a camera for something so critical, I am sure that there is monitoring services that are much better at this sort of thing, just my opinion, I also can not think of anything in BI or CodeProject AI that would even be able to do this, others may have more insight!
I would agree about something so critical I don't know if I would completely trust the system, but two options come to mind that you could try.
First one is in BI and is Opposite Sense function in motion detection.
The other option would be with a camera with built-in AI like a Dahua and use loitering detection to detect someone in the same spot for a period of time.
I don't think either would replace a monitoring service or device they wear like some watches can detect falls now or a panic button necklace, but for your use case one of these could work?
My wife does have an apple watch I purchased for this reason but she has fallen twice since but I got no notification either time. I’m thinking because they haven’t been hard falls.
This seems live a very valuable ai feature. My inlaws in their 90s really need this. We hire someone to attend them all night largely because of the danger they’ll try to get up and fall. My mother in law broke her hip a few months ago this way.
