Have been a member for a couple years now. I had bought a few Dahua PoE turret cameras right before the pandemic, then lost all motivation to install them as I was home all the time . Now I'd like to finish this project! I have a Raspberry Pi 4b with PoE hat that I originally thought I'd use as an NVR, but now I'm thinking of just using my Synology NAS directly. In the meantime, I've bench-tested my cameras and now need to figure out where I want to install them.

Thank you all for the great information you've shared on this forum!

I don't think you'll find the Synology the best solution either. More than two cameras, I believe, and you need additional licenses per camera. Blue Iris on a dedicated PC is the best, most flexible, way to go.
