Hello from Germany!

I am using eight of IPC-HDW2831TM-AS-S2 IP Cams.

What firewall settings should I set so that the camera is relatively safe from unauthorized access?

I have shared the cameras to access them via ddns and rtsp port with tinycam pro.

Can someone Help?

Thank YOU!

If you are forwarding any ports in your router you are at risk.

Most of us here have configured our cams to have NO Internet access by using a VLAN or dual NIC's on the PC.

The most secure way is to use a VPN; not a VPN service that masks your IP but a VPN server built-in to many routers and a VPN-client on the remote, such as your smartphone.

OpenVPN is free and widely used.

Yes, i know what you mean. But i need to forwarding the RTSP ports because i dont want to give some people the wireguard vpn access to my network.

I only forward the rtsp port for some cams to share the video with some people.

Do someone have the Firewall in the Camera on and use it?

Implementing the cameras firewall feature (if it has one), you will still need to open the network firewall to allow folks access to the camera. If you insist on not going the VPN route, always open the least amount possible on the network router.

I believe you can grant user access via VPN connectivity, but limit some of the vpn accounts to only access the desired camera(s)
