Fireworks Fight

So these are grown-ass young men are out at 11 PM playing with fireworks....so I guess no one has to get up at 6 and go to work to make money to buy more shit to set on fire. And never mind that some people in the neighborhood may be trying to sleep at 11PM so THEY can go to work rested in the morning.

And why do they meet in front of your place? Is it because they're still living in their parents' basements and were told to go somewhere else?

Are those fireworks even legal in CA?

In case you can't tell, I don't care for fireworks. It's because they're not just for the holiday, say New Years or The Fourth...it's 3 or 4 days BEFORE and 3 or 4 days AFTER those holidays and it's sometimes to 1 AM on the 4th and 3AM on NYE.....so yeah, I don't care for them. And lately they're selling them around here even before Memorial Day.

Two of our 4 dogs are terrified, won't eat and it takes a couple of days for them to return to normal so it's a week of terror for them. :(:blankstare::wtf:

</end rant>

FWIW, the answer is "NO" according to City of San Jose's page ==>> FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL

Excerpt:

"All types of fireworks, even those labeled 'safe and sane' are illegal in San José and most of Santa Clara County. San José Municipal Code 10.17.100 states that, except for professional, permitted displays, it is unlawful for any person to possess, store, offer or expose for sale, or use or explode any fireworks."

I believe the reason they stopped on the corner was to use the background of the buildings downtown in their video. One guy was recording the action. I initially thought the male and female behind the SUV were also recording, but in the last sped up view of the action you can see their feet under the SUV moving around trying to avoid being hit by the fireballs. By the way, they threw the used fireworks down on the corner right before they left. I went to pick them up the next day to see what they were. There were Crackling Attack firework sticks. Each stick holds 10 fireballs. I believe each of the sticks had 2 duds each, that only went a short distance. The warnings on the label say "Do Not Hold In Hand". The instructions say to bury the sticks in sand or dirt before lighting the fuse. Here is a frame that shows the female.

Or read any stinkin instructions. Or even take a simple, basic, precaution like gloves or safety glasses/face shield.

"I dun need no stinkin' instrukshuns, man.." said JayJay One Eye .:rofl:

I also was surrounded by brilliant people shooting fireworks. I'm sure if I suffered any property damage, they would be responsible for it. Bullshit ! I use to love the 4th of July but now my dog and I sit in the basement and monitor my property and really can't even go anywhere. All this legalized fireworks in the states was just the state wanting the revenue from it. Why this is legal in the city limits is beyond stupid. Google it and you quickly find out it has gotten out of hand everywhere.

And watch this one...Jesus !

Oh and it's out of control in the rural areas as well.

Up here on and/or near Smith Lake out of towners come and act like no one lives here...it becomes their personal trash can and party place for the holidays. They bring their dogs and let then run free then the dogs panic like most do when there's fireworks, the dogs run off then the dogs' owners come knocking on our door asking if we've seen their dog or dogs! I tell them, "no, we have not, been taking care or the 4 we have"...

Not a fan of fireworks...it didn't rain here for a month and was in the 90's daily and the Dept. of Forestry was asleep at the wheel, IMO, and should have issued a "no burn" notice but they did not.

I guess we'll wait until some big wig from the city or a local "big fish in a little pond", gets his place burned down by fireworks under these weather conditions before we decide to do anything pro-active... :headbang:

</end rant...for now>

Is anyone on this page under 65 years old? Good lord, it's like none of you even remember what it's like to be young and have fun.

"I'm glad I grew up when there weren't any cameras or social media. We couldn't have done half the crazy stuff we did without getting in trouble. Those were the good ol' days."

"Man, kids these days are always up to no good. Look at 'em out there having fun playing with fireworks! How dare they?!? Where are their safety glasses?!? It's 11 PM for goodness sake! People are trying to sleep and my dogs are upset!"
