I have searched and searched and I know I have read this somewhere in this forum but now I can't find the reference. What is the recommended format size of the storage hard drive? In my case it's an 8TB capacity. The post I read, I think it suggested a smaller block size (1000 something) (if that's what it's called) than the default size, is that correct. There were associated reasons as to why to make it a smaller block size.

Steve.

The block size should be 1024 which is 1 megabyte blocks. The Windows default is 4 kilobytes which results in many additional reads and writes.

This is, of course, for video recording use. Normal 4K blocks are fine for a "regular" data drive.
