I have a IPC-HFW5231E-Z12 which I had modified the video settings and set the FPS to 5. I confirmed through the BI cameras status page that FPS was at 5. Then I rebooted the camera and the frame rate reverted to 25. After the reboot when I looked at the FPS via the camera web interface it showed it was set to 5 yet BI was showing 25. I spent the next 2+ hours trying to figure out why the FPS wouldn't stay at 5 and I found it was related to the firmware version. The camera was shipped with firmware IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.460.0000.15.R.20170907 and I had upgraded it to DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Eng_P_Stream3_V2.460.0000000.16.R.20170904. I'll not bore you with the details of my lost 2+ hours but in the end I ended up going back to the original firmware. I can say I've learned that: 1) Don't upgrade firmware just because there is a newer version and 2) reboot your cameras after you're done configuring them, you don't want any surprises if you have a power outage. I have my network and BI server on UPS but an extended power loss would shut all the cameras down.
