Geovision External Microphone Help

Hi. I just installed a Geovision FER5701 360 camera. It has a connection to add an external microphone. I added a Sony ECM-ES3 microphone, yet I get no audio in Blue Iris 4. I enabled Play Live Audio for that camera and I enabled Audio in RTSP/ONVIF setup on the camera itself. What am I missing?

Si figured out two things. 1. The cover has to be on to enable the microphone. 2. My microphone sucks. Any suggestions as to what would be a better microphone option?

Thanks. I bought it and tried this microphone, but I don't get any sound. I did finally get audio on my sony, but it is very soft, I can't hear anything. I hooked the Micro Seven up to my computer and it works properly. I don't know why it wouldn't work with this camera...
