Greetings everyone,
We are trying to figure out if there is a way to remotely get hold of the footage from our HikVision Camera SD Cards directly.
I know there are a few ways to get hold of the footage, by accessing the camera and going playback and download and select what you need.
There are also a few Tools / Software from HikVision that will do this too. Remote Backup was the closest tool to what we want where we can schedule.
BUT, its either a manual process or I can only schedule one backup per day by the looks of it.
Our goal is to come in and grab last hour or even last 5 minutes recordings and get them transferred to remote storage.
We've already tried to set recording to NAS directly but what it does with the directories and empty files does not suit our needs.
We very much need the files to have the date & time stamp etc...
We wish to not include an NVR in the mix due to space constraint, but I do realise some of these have the capability to upload to cloud services.
We have been looking at API documentation and couldn't find anything related to recordings or accessing the storage.
In summary, we have stand alone HikVision camera with an internet connection and an SD Card which Events are being triggered and recorded to.
We wish to automate a system that will tap into the footage and let us transfer any new events or past events based on a timer.
I could do a schedule backup with Remote Backup to transfer previous 24 hours but that's too long a Period.
We're after minutes and I haven't found a tool /software that will allow me to do this.
If anyone has any ideas or could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.
p.s "connecting a camera to a remote NVR is also not possible due to bandwidth constraints"
